Troop 671 is 55 years strong, founded in 1969 and currently has 35 registered scouts. We are a scout-led troop and operate by the patrol method. The Patrol Leader’s Council (PLC), with guidance from the Scoutmasters and Troop Committee, plan and carry out the troop’s monthly activities, including our weekly troop meetings, campouts, and our annual summer camp. Our patrol leaders and older Scouts work with younger scouts on rank advancement during the year. Our Scouts enjoy activities like camping and hiking. In addition to life skills such as leadership, the boys learn and practice outdoor skills on these trips.
Our troop has a wide range of equipment including a trailer, tents, stoves, and other cooking gear for our troop and patrols. The troop has strong parental support. Parents participate as adult leaders, committee members, and merit badge counselors. Our adult leaders are trained in Scouting policies, training skills, and safety; meeting or exceeding the requirements for their positions and the array of our planned outings.
